Beasiswa ADB (Asian Development Bank) - Japan Scholarship Program was established with financing from the Government of Japan to provide an opportunity for well qualified citizens of the Bank’s Developing Member Countries (DMCs) to undertake postgraduate studies which will assist the economic and social development of their countries at University of Sydney Australia.
Each scholarship covers full tuition fees, an allowance for books and instructional materials, a monthly living allowance, medical insurance and travel expenses. For scholars engaged in research, a special grant may be applied to assist in field work and thesis preparation. In special circumstances, computer literacy, preparatory language and other similar courses may be covered under the scholarship.
Selection criteria for ADB - Japan Scholarship:
- Applicants with less than two years of work experience will not be selected.
- Preference to women candidates.
- Preference to applicants with lesser financial capacity.
- The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who have previously studied abroad.
- The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who are pursuing a second master’s degree or a second doctorate degree.
- Candidates who are applying in a participating academic institution in their own country may not be selected.
- Diversification of nationality in the overall Program as well as at each participating academic institution will be considered.
The scholarship period is one year. An appropriate extension for the second or third year of study is conditional on the scholar’s maintaining a satisfactory level of performance determined by the University of Sydney and following approval by the ADB. Competition for an ADB-JSP scholarship is extremely strong. Only candidates who receive an unconditional offer of admission will be considered for the ADB-JSP scholarship.

Scholarship Engineering PhD Positions
Job Description : The CISTER Research Unit focuses its activity in the analysis, design and implementation of real-time and embedded computing systems. The unit is based upon the IPP-HURRAY Research Group (HUgging Real-time and Reliable Architectures for computing sYstems), which was created in 1997, and has since grown to become the most prominent research group of the School of Engineering (ISEP) of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP), and one of the leading European research groups in the area of real-time and embedded computing systems.
Research work in these areas span from quality-of-service in WSNs, link quality estimation, scalable data processing to scheduling algorithms, analysis methods, single and multiprocessor operating systems work, component-based real-time systems, hierarchical scheduling, power management, software concurrency in languages, and real-time middleware. Individual topics can be discussed with potential supervisors after an initial assessment of the candidates. Please see the respective webpages mentioned above for details on possible research areas.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The positions are for up to four years contract. Salary will be up to 14,400.00€ (after taxes) per year. The CISTER/IPP-HURRAY research facilities and expertise offer an excellent research environment for acquiring research skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidates should have a Bachelor, Licenciate, or MSc degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related fields. GRE and TOEFL are welcome. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Candidates holding a Bachelor/Licenciate degree with a GPA (Grade Point Average) greater or equal to 75% are preferred.

Tuscarora Nation Scholarship Program and Application 2010-2011 Academic Year
As agreed upon in the Relicensing Agreement between the Power Authority of the State of New York and the Tuscarora Nation, the PA is responsible for developing and implementing in consultation with the Nation, a scholarship program.
The scholarship program will begin in the academic year following the Acceptance Date of the Relicensing Agreement and shall extend through the remainder of the New License term, which is approximately fifty years.
Terms of the Scholarship
The program will provide, on an annual basis, two undergraduate full tuition scholarships to Nation citizens matriculating at any community college or university in the State University of New York System. The student shall receive tuition for the fall and spring semesters for four years.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Tuscarora Scholarship; 1) the student must attend a SUNY school as a matriculating student; and 2) be enrolled at Tuscarora.
Obligation
The recipient of the Tuscarora Nation Scholarship must fulfill a Community involvement obligation within the four years in which the scholarship award is received. Also, the recipient must remain a matriculated, degree seeking student at a college or university in the State University of New York system to continue to receive the award.
